About Philippe Mastrogiuseppe
Growing up in the suburbs of Montreal, my first contact with video games came at a young age. While still in diapers, I remember watching my brother play MunchMan on a Texas Instruments TI-99/4 console. On a black and white TV. Before watching stuff in black and white was hip.
I remember before owning an NES, just about everyone on our street would try to get invited to the one guy's house who had actually had one. I remember sucking at Punch Out! real bad, to the point I had to get my dad to beat Glass Joe. GLASS JOE. I finished the first TMNT game 16 years after it came out.
I still own and play my original SNES from time to time. It's at my parents' place, so when I do show up and have nothing to do, I like to pop in a Final Fantasy game or F-Zero, and dominate like a boss.
I completely missed out on the next two console generations. I didn't own a PSX, N64, Saturn, nor did I own a PS2, Gamecube, Dreamcast, or Xbox. I ended playing some PSX games when they were getting out of style, and similarly I started getting into PS2 games about 2 years ago. I bought a PS3 about a year ago (used, I'm pretty cheap), and have been enjoying it. I've been sticking to PS consoles more because of my former Squenix fanboyism.
When not gaming, I can usually be found working as a structural engineer, cooking or sleeping. On weekends, during the winter I spend most of my energy trying to go skiing and telemarking. I've played bass in a few bands, but never professionally. I enjoy woodworking and lutherie, but can't manage to spend as much time as I'd like on those activities.
